Please Help Sweet Bree!

Hello.  My name is Adriana and I am creating this fundraising campaign to help my best friend, Kristen, get financial assistance for one of her precious furbabies, Sea Breeze or "Bree".  Bree is a 9 year old Maine Coon and is an integral part of Kristen's family; Bree is the glue, she is joy, she is calm.  She is mother to two sons living with her, and Kristen's sweet baby girl.

Kristen has had a local veterinarian treating Bree for months, racking up thousands in bills which she had managed to pay by taking money from her own medical bills and running up her credit cards to their max, including CareCredit.   Finally getting the biopsy she requested could not have produced a worst result:  Bree has been diagnosed with a fibroma - likely a fibrosarcoma - that has wound itself around her facial nerve and originated in the tissue between her left sinus and nasal bridge cartilage - multiple veterinarians have now seen and weighed-in, and have collectively said that the mass could not be in a worse place.  This tumor is likely inoperable.  Bree's only option at this point is chemotherapy and radiation.  And, like for humans, it is incredibly expensive.  We have contacted numerous universities around the country and private veterinary oncology services - all are quoting upwards of $10,000.   Kristen has to-date been told that tumors in this facial area treated with radiation have good success rates.  We have reached out to every foundation and program that purportedly assists with these expenses in the hope that some of this cost can be covered.  These foundations place more focus on canines, don't cover cancer treatment, at max provide $100-$200 total, are defunct or have waiting lists YEARS out.  There are also no payment plans - veterinarians have told both of us that people taking out payment plans and subsequently defaulting have ruined it for those that need them. So, it all has to come out-of-pocket.  And neither of us have pockets that deep.  So, we are turning to you for help.

We know we are asking for a lot of money;  but, per Bree's current vet, in the last 4 months with her prior vet, Bree has been misdiagnosed multiple times; she has had teeth pulled when there was no need, was assumed to have a "broken nose", been provided numerous courses of useless antibiotics, suffered an ulcerated cornea, and later contracted MRSA at the tumor site.  This alone caused Kristen to have to take prophylactic antibiotics because of her immune system, place the other cats on antibiotics and deep clean the entire house with strong bactericide numerous times, all while trying to scrape together for the next vet bill, and managing and triaging Bree on an almost constant basis. What funds were available are now gone to misdiagnosis with no life-saving treatment provided during these crucial months.

Tumor area... just what we can see.  We don't know fully how deep it extends until CT is done this week.

Kristen has lost her parents to cancer, developed and battled cancer herself, lost her first beloved Maine Coon to a saddle thrombus the day she (Kristen) was diagnosed, and her rescue siamese to ileocecal cancer as she was between hospital stays for her own malignancy.  Now, it's Bree.  Kristen's felines are her lifeblood and children.  Bree is nothing short of her daughter.  Bree and her sons know she is ill, yet she manages to maintain her loving and sweet nature and has not given up.  Kristen's cats are one of the main reasons she had the will to survive cancer alone, and were at her side the entire time.  Sweet Bree now needs the same  - a belief in her ability to survive and us at her side.

Help us make this happen.  Please donate to this fundraising campaign.  All funds raised will be used towards Bree's cancer care treatment including chemotherapy and radiation.
