help me get back behind the chair!

hi, i’m bre, and i’m raising money to help me rebuild my career as a hairstylist and finally get back to doing what i love full time.

i’ve been doing hair since 2019 and have been booth renting since 2022. hair has always been so much more than just a job to me. i love the creativity, the relationships i’ve built with my clients, and being able to help someone feel beautiful and confident when they leave my chair.

over the last year and a half, my health changed everything.

as things got harder physically, i stepped away from doing hair full time and started working a desk job instead. i thought it would be easier on my body and give me more stability, but honestly, things have only gone downhill and it has made me realize just how much i miss being behind the chair.

i never completely left hair. i’ve still been taking care of my clients on sundays because i just couldn’t bring myself to walk away from something i love so much.

right now, i’m going through achilles lengthening surgeries on both feet. recovery has made it really difficult for me to work full time, and i still have a lot of healing and rehab ahead of me, but i know this is something i need done before i get back behind the chair and can service clients without pain.

through all of this, one thing has become really clear to me.

i want to go back to hair.

i want to rebuild my books, find a new salon home, reconnect with the clients who have supported me for years, meet new clients, and get back to doing the career that has always felt the most like me.

because i’ve been away from doing hair full time for so long, i’m basically starting over from scratch when it comes to my business. i don’t have the color inventory, tools, supplies, or cushion i need to just walk back into a salon and start again.

my goal is to raise $7,500 to help me get everything i need to make this transition possible.

-where the money will go

the money raised will go toward things like:

• rebuilding my color inventory, developers, lightener, and toners

• foils, gloves, bowls, brushes, clips, capes, towels, hot tools, and other salon supplies

• a salon suite or booth rental deposit and initial rent

• booking software, business insurance, licensing, signage, and marketing

• restocking color and supplies as i start taking more clients again

• other startup costs that come with rebuilding an independent salon business

i’m not expecting to jump back into this overnight. my recovery comes first, and i want to come back in a way that is safe, realistic, and sustainable for me.

i’m using this time while i heal to start preparing so that when my body is ready, my business can be ready too.

asking for help like this is definitely outside of my comfort zone, but i’m trying to follow my heart and give myself the chance to rebuild something that means a lot to me.
