Hey everyone! I am starting a GoFundMe to raise money for a new mobility aid for Brayden. It’s called GoZeen and it will assist Bray in walking, making sure he is safe.
Brayden has an unknown disorder/disease that causes his body to be severely weak. He has exome and genome testing every three years to test for possible genetics disorders and as of recently, he was the first at his clinic to participate in RNA sequencing testing to see if he has a rare or ultra rare disorder.
Since Brayden does not have a diagnosis, we go by what we do know. He has cerebral atrophy, static encephalopathy, severe hypotonia, scoliosis, severe bilateral overpronation in his feet, delayed speech, delayed global development, impaired gait, farsighted with a dull point view. The list goes on.
Over the past 13 years, Brayden has undergone over 15 surgeries and he will need more in the future for his feet and his back. His foot surgery is expected to occur when he turns 16 years old. This mobility aid will grow with him and aid in his healing when he has to be nonweight-bearing for three months
My biggest reason I would like to get Brayden this walker to keep him safe while he is just trying to live his life like all of us. It will allow him to sit when he’s tired, glide when walking becomes too hard, and he can move with ease without the fear of falling over.
The GoZeen is made specifically to not topple over. It will cost around $5,500 with shipping included. I will be applying for a grant with DayForce Cares on April 1st. They average around $1,300-$2,000 in grant money that they give away to families that apply—in hopes that we do get accepted for this grant. So I’m hoping we can reach at least $2,000 on here. I will set the goal to $4,000 in case we do not get accepted for the grant. Whatever we have left over I will cover out of pocket.
Thank you for reading!
