Hello, I started this campaign to raise funds for a wonderful family in Wisconsin. I met this family 5 years ago through a rare disease support group. Their son, Brayden, has been in unimaginable pain since birth, and now he may need his ulcerated foot amputated. He was born with clubfoot, and at 3 years old developed a rare, debilitating disease called Erythromelalgia (EM) which makes him feel like he is burning alive inside.
Brayden, now 16 years old, spends his days and nights hunched over in pain, feeling like he is burning alive. He is now unable to walk. He keeps a fan blowing on his lower legs 24/7.
In recent months, his condition has worsened with the development of ulcers all over his feet. He is in constant burning pain and swelling.
Brayden's mother, Sheena, has been out of work for the last 6 weeks because she has to be a full-day nurse to her son.
She has to give him multiple medications that have special instructions and requires monitoring throughout the day. She also has to check his temperature to make sure he's not running a fever or developing any new signs of infection. His multiple-step wound care regimen requires adult supervision several times a day.
She is regularly messaging and making phone calls to Brayden's doctors.
It is possible he may need his foot amputated but the goal for now is to help him with his pain, heal his wounds, and find him a better treatment plan. No amount is too small to give. With Sheena being out of work, Christmastime will also be a struggle.
Please help Brayden and his family.
