Brayden has always been a "finish line" kind of guy. As a standout scholarship track and field athlete, he’s used to pushing through the pain. But recently, he made his most selfless move yet: stepping away from college and his sport to secure a job and provide for his first child, due on September 3, 2026.
The universe seemed to be rewarding his hard work when he received three job offers in a single day. But that same afternoon, the "race" changed entirely.
A Medical Crisis
What was thought to be a routine appendectomy spiraled into a life-threatening emergency when surgeons discovered a gastrointestinal perforation. After failed graft attempts, Brayden underwent a bowel resection. While he was hopeful for a quick release, persistent fevers have kept him in the hospital for further observation.
The Long Hurdles Ahead
The path home is not the end of the struggle. Once released, Brayden’s life will consist of:
* Daily Hospital Commutes: Required travel for intensive IV antibiotic administration.
* Physical Restrictions: An 8-week recovery period where he is unable to lift or perform the physical labor required for his new career path.
* The September Countdown: With a baby arriving in September, Brayden is in a race against time to heal and get back to work.
How You Can Help
Brayden did the hard work of securing his family's future, only for his health to take it away at the last second. We are raising funds to bridge the gap between his surgery and his first paycheck.
Donations will go directly toward:
* Medical bills from his extended inpatient stay.
* Travel expenses for daily IV treatments.
* Living expenses during his 8-week work restriction.
Brayden is fighting to be the healthy, hardworking father his baby deserves. Let’s help him get across this finish line.
