We come to you with heavy hearts and an urgent plea for support for a precious little soul, Leo, who is bravely facing an unimaginable battle against Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an extremely rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. His parents Agripina, our dear cousin and Ion, his lovind dad are just in a state of shock and disbelief.

Less than two weeks ago, 5-year-old Leo, was suddenly struck by a series of unexplained symptoms. What started as a seemingly innocent tummy ache and vomiting turned into a nightmare for Leo and his family. His caring mother, Agripina, took him to the doctor, hoping for a quick remedy to what was initially thought to be a stomach virus or indigestion.

To their devastating shock, further tests revealed that Leo is grappling with DIPG, a rare type of brain cancer that primarily affects children. DIPG is known for its aggressiveness and its location in the brainstem, making it one of the most challenging forms of pediatric cancer. Leo's family now faces an arduous journey ahead, marked by radiation therapy and the desperate hope that experimental clinical trials may offer a glimmer of hope for his precious life. Leo has gone through brain surgery and is waiting to heal and start radiation in the following days. The clinic in Trieste, Italy (their hometown) cannot offer the specialized care that he desperately needs, so his doctors advise to move him to a specialized clinic in Udine. The medical team is tirelessly researching treatment options, aiming to provide Leo with the most effective and compassionate care possible.

The financial burden of moving him to a specialized clinic and being away from home  is overwhelming for Agripina and Ion.
