Go For Goldie.
This GoFundMe page has been created by Travis and Kerri Grigg the parents of Goldie Grigg, with the purpose to assist our family with medical and living expenses as Goldie continues to receive the best care for cancer from Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
On October 21, 2020, our world came crashing down when our daughter Goldie was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. The doctors recommended starting chemotherapy before getting the results back to tell us what kind of cancer it was. Our hearts and minds couldn’t believe what we were hearing. The doctors found masses on her kidney, spine, chest, and throat. A couple of days later we found out she had High Risk, Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Goldie will have at least 18 months of treatment. Treatments will include 6 rounds of chemotherapy that include weekly hospital stays, surgery to remove the cancer, stem cell harvest and transplant, and radiation among other things.
So far Goldie has been through 8 rounds of chemo, she has had a kidney and 5 inches of her colon removed, a stem cell harvest, multiple blood transfusions multiple trips to ICU a couple of month long stays in the hospital. and after 21 months she is still having treatments some are even out of state.
Goldie is a vibrant and rambunctious child full of love and hope that just turned 3 in March. Like any 3 year old, she likes to play with her toys, read books, watch YouTube videos, bang on the drums, and most importantly spend time with family and friends. Those who know Goldie can tell you the joy she brings to everyone by making them laugh and smile.
Goldie has bravely handled everything which has come her way and we are so amazed to see how strong and brave our little girl is.
We both had to stop working for now because it takes both of us to take care of Goldie. It is hard to keep up with the finances when we are using all of our energy to save Goldie’s life. As she battles cancer and receives the subsequent treatments, the strain on our family is tenfold with the frequent hospital visits and long hospital stays.
Every penny of your donation to our family will go directly to the medical costs and other costs throughout Goldie’s treatment. For now our goal is $30,000 which may or may not be sufficient. Anything unused would be donated back to kids like Goldie. If you feel it in your heart to donate to Goldie and our family it would be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small.
Please help Goldie to overcome this situation by supporting us and more importantly keeping us in your prayers. Thank you so much.
