Hello, my name is Branjae, and many of you might know me from BranjaeMusic and Count Tutu. Performing and live music are my passions, and I am dedicated to uniting people across differences through music. Normally, I am not one to ask for help, but I find myself in a position where I need to reach out to my community.
In 2013, I underwent invasive surgery to remove benign tumors. For many years, I was tumor-free, but sadly, they began to return about four years ago. This condition significantly affects my quality of life and my ability to perform and be as active on stage as I would like. Despite my outward appearance, I am in constant pain due to the size of these tumors, the largest being 11cm in diameter, with many others too numerous for doctors to count.
As my condition has worsened, it has become clear that I need a second surgery. I have been diligently applying for financial assistance and have secured some affordable health insurance. Thankfully, my insurance will cover 75% of the surgery costs, but I am responsible for the remaining 25% plus a $1500 copay. While I am grateful for the coverage I have, it is not enough to cover the full cost of the surgery scheduled for June 17th.
I am humbly requesting your support to cover the remaining balance of the surgery not covered by insurance or grant funding, as well as some living expenses during my 6-12 week recovery period, depending on how efficiently I heal. Any amount you can contribute will make a significant difference and help me get back to doing what I love—bringing joy and unity to our community through music.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
With gratitude,
Branjae
