Our sweet Brandy, a 3-year-old black Labrador, has been through more than any dog should ever have to endure. Once a playful, energetic pup who radiated pure joy, her world has been dimmed by pain.

Brandy came into our family from a shelter in Minneapolis, MN, as a 12-week-old bundle of love. She was curious, affectionate, and full of life—until her first birthday, when she was diagnosed with SRMA (steroid-responsive meningitis-arteritis), a severe autoimmune disease that caused meningitis. We nearly lost her. After a grueling battle, she survived—but her struggles weren’t over.

Even after recovery, Brandy was too weak to walk, too tired to play, and too sore to enjoy life. A heartbreaking exam revealed the devastating truth : severe hip dysplasia in both hips, with early osteoarthritis. Her muscles have wasted away, and every step is painful.

Veterinarians urgently recommend double hip replacement surgery—a complex, costly procedure that is her only chance at a pain-free future. Without it, her arthritis will worsen rapidly, leaving her unable to walk and in constant agony.

But after her meningitis treatment, we’re financially drained. The $14,800 cost for surgery, pre-op exams, follow-up X-rays, and rehab, isn’t covered by insurance. We’ve exhausted our savings, but we can’t give up on her.
