Help Brandon's Family Through Leukemia Battle

Hello everyone,

I am reaching out to all friends, family, and communities to help and support a coworker and close friend of mine, Brandon.

On August 29, 2024, Brandon’s five-year-old daughter, Laila, was taken to the hospital due to her having complications with her breathing. At the hospital, an x-ray and CT scan were performed. The doctors noticed that these scans showed a concerning mass on her chest. This led them to transfer her to UC Davis for further testing to be conducted. Laila’s hospital visits consisted of two biopsies, two bone marrows, one spinal tap, and long days and nights at the hospital.

On September 10, 2024, the family’s world was turned upside down when they received the news that Laila was diagnosed with T- Cell Leukemia. The doctors informed Laila’s parents that she will have to undergo treatment for the next two years. Due to this life changing event, Brandon has taken time off from work to help his wife and be with their daughter Laila. These circumstances will require Brandon to have to take off numerous months in order to be by Laila’s side during the treatment and recovery process.

Brandon is a Union Welder at Local 342, but his time off will reduce his income significantly and the co-payments will exhaust the family benefit card.
