The Swansboro Church of Christ is coordinating this GoFundMe for BRANDON WOODARD.

Brandon is a 40 year old who is currently in end-stage Antisynthetase Syndrome, an incurable, degenerative, genetic lung condition which requires a double lung transplant. Without the transplant, his life expectation, according to the specialists at Duke University Hospital, will probably be no more than the end of the year.

He is currently in evaluation stage to be fast-tracked for the transplant list, but one of the requirements for the transplant list is an indication of an ability to cover costs. He has exhausted his savings and insurance and must appeal for contributions to cover (1) medical costs, (2) lodging and food costs for his mother, who has moved to the Raleigh area to be with him, and (3) the months long rehabilitation process.

Brandon has worked as hard as he is physically capable to maintain his employment, even as his condition worsened, but he has reached the point where must receive the enhanced care at Duke ICU. He is a man of quiet strength and perseverance who has now done all he can.
