Brandon Ikaika Lima is a man of that has had to face many obstacles throughout his life, but has preserved though his inner strength and positive attitude. He is of Hawaiian ancestry from the remote, rural island of Molokai, Hawaii. Ikaika is the oldest child of a single mother with 3 siblings and for a time was part of the Foster Care system. Through all of the challenges he has faced throughout his life, his caring attitude and strong work ethic has always carried him through. He has continually searched for new ways to further his education or work experiences wherever those challenges may take him. After high school, he worked on Molokai for many years both on land at Puu O Hoku Ranch, in the ocean with fishpond restoration, and was often involved in community activities to protect and preserve the environment. In searching for new opportunities for himself, he was willing to relocate. After leaving the familiarity of home, Ikaika worked in Alaska for 3 years as a forklift operator with Pacific Star and Seafoods. In 2018, he moved to Virginia Beach, searching for new ways to further his experiences and knowledge. He is presently a technician for small engine mechanics with Land and Coates and also works as a farm Superintendent at Aloha Gardens in Hampton, Virginia In order to improve his skills and employment opportunities, he recently enrolled himself at the Aviation Schools in VA / Aviation Institute of Maintenance. Their Aviation Maintenance Technician Program is a 22-month program., which will cost $55,00. Upon completion of the program, he will be prepared with the knowledge and skills to bean aircraft mechanic and be prepared to pass the FFA test in aviation maintenance. Ikaika’s classes are beginning this month and he needs your help in paying for his tuition, administration fees, and other educational expenses. Your financial support is needed to help him pursue this dream and to continue on the path he has set for himself of as an independent, contributing member to his new community. Although he may not realize it, he has also established himself as a role model for others of his home community- to not limit yourself but to follow your dreams whatever they may take you. Mahalo for all your kind donations to help Brandon achieve this financial mile stone and becoming a Aviation Technician from the lovely island he calls his home Molokai Thank you all!!!!
