My name is Brandon and I started a DJ and music production business in 2016 called Comfort Food LLC.
I've been building Comfort Food for four years with the help and support of my friends, family, and community.
To date we've supported our community by participating and facilitating events for Juneteenth Santa Barbara, the Santa Barbara Young Black Professionals, and the Notes for Notes® non-profit organization dedicated to providing youth with free access to musical instruments, instruction and recording studio environments.
It started in 2016 with the prodding of Bob Stout opening a new bar next door to his award winning enterprise Wildcat Lounge called the Bobcat Room. Back then it was Alessandro, Jerome, and I working together to establish the best sounding bar in the Santa Barbara area.
A lot has changed since then and I'm proud to say that everyone that I've come in to contact with over the years are still people I keep close with to this day with no intention of that changing. Thank you to those who've rocked with us in those beginning days.
I'm raising money to purchase software and equipment needed to embark on Comfort Food's most ambitious mission to date:
becoming a recording studio and record label.
To build a recording studio you need physical space, hardware equipment, and software. The best software in the industry is called Ableton and I have my sights set on using this software to produce music made by and for the people that have supported us from the beginning. It costs $749 and with tax that comes to a total of $797.88 that I don't have.
If you're reading this, it is likely we have connected in the past and I've told you about this project or you've seen me wearing one of the hats we've made and you had something positive to say about it or helped me directly by sending me your favorite song that week.
It is humbling to realize I don't have the money to make this project into the vision of what it could be at this moment. I believe I can make a lasting impact in the world given the chance. This GoFundMe is a step forward to making this belief a reality and asking the people I've met in this world for their help.
If money isn't something you can give, a fire emoji response is enough for me to keep striving to make Comfort Food's recording studio a reality.
If you have a few bucks to throw towards this, I will live and breathe to transform that money into the most positive energy possible.
