Aloha, my name is Brandi and I live in Kihei, Maui with my boyfriend Dereck and our two boys, 4 & 2. On March 13, 2026, our home was flooded due to the Kona Low 1 storm. That night, we had to flee through knee deep water with our boys and our dog as the parking lot of our complex turned into a swimming pool. We are very fortunate to have family to stay with until we can move home.

Unfortunately, like many of our neighbors, we do not have flood insurance as we are not in a flood zone.

With Dereck's skills and generous helping hands, we were prepared to handle most of our own remediation, however we are finding that due to the flooding involving Cat3 water (highest contamination level) we must have more done to make the home safe for our family than we originally thought.

We are humbly seeking assistance towards professional remediation of the home, cost of supplies for repair of walls, drywall, and baseboards, as well as flooring supplies and installation. Our first electric bill since the storm has already increased significantly due to the fans and dehumidifiers that have been running since the storm to dry the walls. At least for now, these are the things that we will need to have addressed.
