Help Brandi Get a Life-Saving Seizure Alert Dog
Hi, I’m Brandi, and I’m asking for your help to change my life.
I’ve lived with uncontrolled epilepsy for nearly 50 years. My seizures happen without warning and have caused serious injuries — severe lacerations, concussions, loss of teeth and deep bruises from collapsing unexpectedly. I live every day with fear and anxiety, not knowing when the next seizure will strike or if someone will be there to help.
That’s why I’ve been accepted into the Medical Mutts service dog program — a nonprofit that rescues dogs from shelters and trains them to become seizure alert service dogs. These amazing dogs can detect a seizure before it happens, giving me time to get to safety, take medication, or call for help. They’re also trained to retrieve assistance and provide comfort after a seizure.
This dog will not only help protect me from injury, but it will also give me the freedom to live more fully — to take a walk, go shopping, enjoy time with my family — without the constant fear of collapsing alone.
But I need your help to make this happen.
What Your Donation Supports:
Seizure Alert Training: Months of professional training to detect and respond to seizures
Boarding & Veterinary Care: Daily care, feeding, medical checkups during the training process
Required Travel: For my family and me to attend out-of-state training and bonding sessions
Service Dog Gear: Vest, harness, crate, and supplies for daily use
Even though Medical Mutts is a nonprofit, the total cost for training, care, and travel is more than $30,000. Every dollar brings me one step closer to safety, independence, and peace of mind.
If you can donate — even $5 — I am so grateful. If you can’t, please share my story. You’ll be supporting not just me, but an amazing mission where rescued dogs save lives.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
– Brandi
