Bra’Naye Willis and Kelvin Waver are a young couple stuck in a horrible living situation at the Williamsburg Apartments in Hartwell. Although the complex web site makes it sound like it’s a luxury development that has not been this couple’s experience. Despite their attempts to have their heat repaired and their ducts cleaned they have been met with indifference. Bra’Naye says “the level of negligence is uncanny.” Both of them suffer from asthma and have also developed respiratory issues they have never encountered before. Bra’Naye and Kelvin have done everything in the proper manner in addition to contacting the management they have also and reached out to housing authorities and the health department and they are moving at the speed of government. The complex management has seemingly ignored them. It’s time for the community to take things into our own hands and raise a fund that will allow them to move into a more healthy living situation. Any donation no matter how small is appreciated but if you cannot afford to give please don’t.
Why am I trying to help them? I found myself very ill starting in May 2021. By April 2022 I was knocking on heavens door. I had a serious lung disease and I was going to die soon. However, some stranger who no longer needed their lungs gifted them to me so that I could live; a heroic and selfless act. Organ donation saves lives, I’m living proof. My gratitude is immeasurable. I’m not only alive but thriving. So this is my way of paying it forward. Please be as generous as you can.
