Help is Needed for Brian

Hi, I am reaching out to share the heartfelt story of my dear friend, Kayte Higgins, and her partner, Brian, who recently involved in a devastating accident that resulted in having his right thumb extracted and hand broken. He was rushed to NRGH by ambulance then immediately transferred by ambulance to Campbell river with sirens on to enter a 14 hour long emergency surgery to attach his thumb which the emergency plastic surgeon was able to do,

The next morning Brian was rushed first thing into another surgery to complete the attachment process, after another 6 hours of intense operating Brian lost blood flow to his thumb on his dominant hand and it had to be fully removed.

As many of you know, Brian creates , builds and works with his hands and this loss will have a profound and lasting financial impact on their family. Brian also is a full time dad and has his 11 year old daughter Maiya living with him.

The road to recovery will be long and challenging, filled with bills, rehabilitation, counselling, Travel costs for appointments and the emotional struggle of adjusting to a new normal.

Kayte and Brian are facing an incredibly tough time, and they need our support. Our goal is to raise funds to help alleviate some of the financial burden they are grappling with, allowing them to focus on healing and recovery without the added stress of expenses weighing them down.
