Brahma is my sweet, 12-year-old adopted dog who has been a constant source of love and comfort in my life. She was abandoned by breeders when she was just a puppy because she had severe mange and was pregnant far too young. Despite her rough start, Brahma has always had a gentle spirit and the saddest eyes—even when her tail is wagging. Her resilience and loving nature have made her a true blessing to me, especially during tough times.

About a year ago, Brahma was diagnosed with a mass cell tumor on her paw. Since then, we have tried medication and every other avenue we could, but unfortunately, nothing has worked. The vet has now recommended that her leg be amputated to give her the best chance at a pain-free life. This decision was not made lightly, but it’s the only way forward. To make things even more challenging, I was laid off in August, and covering the cost of her surgery on my own is simply not possible right now.
