Update 01/06/2026
Braelyn has continued to be closely monitored. She was able to open her eyes today, talk for a moment, walk to the bathroom, but because that took a lot out of her, she went back to resting and sleeping.
The doctors were hoping to do an MRI on her, but after she was able to wake up for a brief moment, they decided to wait until tomorrow to see if there’s more improvement. She is aware that her mom and dad are with her, but she still has a long road ahead. This is all we know at this time.
The family has been so touched by everyone’s donations to this fund, to sending them money by using Venmo, and last but not least, prayers. They ask that you all continue to pray for them as they face what’s ahead.
Braelyn’s siblings are doing well and just want their little/big sister to feel better. They have had wonderful friends step in during this time to help with the children, keep an eye on the house, and help with their animals. Your help, and taking action has helped bring peace of mind to them. That is all I have at this time.

I received a telephone call from my best friend this morning that her second daughter, Braelyn, was taken to the hospital due to having a seizure. This was the first time Braelyn has ever experienced, as well as her mom and dad. As you can imagine, this put a lot of fear into Braelyn's parents and also her three siblings. After arriving at the ER, Braelyn had yet another seizure and ended up coding. They were able to revive her and bring her back; however, since then, she has been in a fetal position and hasn't been too coherent.
The tests that I know were done today were an EEG, C.A.T. scan, and a spinal tap. They had also tested her for viral infections, and so far, she has shown positive for the original strain of COVID-19. Her spinal tap is currently pending at this time, but the doctors are working to help rule out what is causing this.
Braelyn has decided to keep her fetal position and keep her eyes closed. Because of this, Braelyn is now being sent by Life Flight to another hospital that is a 4-hour drive for her parents and siblings. We are not aware if either of the parents are able to fly with Braelyn, but the family is in need of any help anyone is willing to give.
Braelyn is 11 years old. Outside of school, her hobbies are cheerleading, dance, tumbling, arts and crafts, and crochet. She wants to be a teacher when she grows up so that she can help others. Braelyn is a wonderful student and is very well known in her community.
Mom and Dad are going to have a journey ahead of them and are in desperate need of funds to help them. This is a family of 6; however, with Braelyn in the hospital, they are down to 5. These funds I'm asking to raise would be able to help with:
- Travel - it's a 4-hour drive to the hospital Braelyn will be transported to
- Hotel - big enough for a family of 5
- Food - enough to feed a family of 5 during travel, hotel, and while they will need to be at the hospital Braelyn will be in
- Medical Bills/Necessities - to help the family pay for the medical bills that will come from this while they are unable to work
We ask that you pray for the Bentley family during this time and to pray for Braelyn's health to improve and get better. We don't know the journey ahead, but we know that Braelyn is a fighter, and God is on her side.
We also ask that if you're unable to donate, please share this page with others to get the word around. I know the family will be forever grateful for any donation or share possible.
