Help Braden Kasten, Age Five, Fight Leukemia
Donation protected
On May 27th, 2022, my nephew Braden Kasten's life forever changed as he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, an aggressive form of blood cancer requiring immediate treatment. Braden, or as we call him "Baubus," is currently at the Phoenix Children's Hospital fighting for his life and is undergoing a grueling six-month treatment where he is bound to his hospital room for nearly the entire duration of his therapy. During this time he will be severely immune compromised and he is already experiencing adverse side-effects to the chemotherapy. In just one week of chemo he has experienced lethargy, vomiting, rashes, aches, unbearable pains, and so much more trauma that no one, let alone a five-year old child should go through. However, Braden’s parents often describe him as their “spitfire” child and don’t doubt his resiliency or his ability to fight and beat cancer.
Braden has always been a happy-go-lucky kid and follows in the goof-ball, sassy-pants footsteps of his Dad, Nick! He also has his mother, Jamie’s intellects, and has aspirations of becoming a Doctor one day (or perhaps a Youtuber like “Ryan’s Toy Reviews”). Braden also has an older brother, Ben, age 8, who looks after his little bro. Ben throughout this time has stayed optimistic; however, misses his brother and has stated that he “wishes he could take Braden’s place because he’s older and stronger.” Braden misses Benny equally as much and can’t wait until they’re back to roughhousing again!
Braden’s diagnosis has been extremely emotionally draining on Braden’s parents, Nick and Jamie. Through this, they have remained steadfast in their goal of being there for their son and doing whatever it takes to save his life.
Therefore, I have created this Go-Fund-Me in hopes of partially removing the financial stressor of this situation, as no parent should ever have to compromise the care of their child due to finances.
If you’re reading this, please consider donating to help aid in the cost to help Braden fight Acute Myeloid Leukemia. If donating money is not possible for you, we ask that you donate blood in his honor (Braden will need up to 50 blood transfusions during his treatments). And no matter what you can or cannot do, our family asks that you lift Braden up in prayer.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
