Dear friends and family, I hope that this message finds you well.
As parents, we pray every night for the health and safety of our kids. We also hope that we never get "the call" that one of our kids or loved ones are hurt. On Wednesday, Oct. 9th, my brother Derek and his wife, Stacy received that exact call alerting them that their son Braden had been involved in an accident and had been airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
Braden Halter (18) was a passenger in a vehicle that had rolled over and hit three trees, leaving him with life-threatening injuries, and landing him in the ICU in critical condition. Derek and Stacy were told by doctors they had him in a medically induced coma and he required intubation and a ventilator to stabilize him and protect him due to his fragile condition. While we now know that Braden will survive, he was left with severe damage to his brain, lungs, and several broken bones. What lies ahead is a long road to recovery which will include countless surgeries and extensive physical therapy.
This is where Braden and his family could use our help. I am reaching out to you today, not just for prayers, but for the purpose of raising money to help what will be a mountain of expenses that this family will now have to take on. Your contributions will help pay for the medical costs they are incurring today and those that they will face in the future with surgeries and physical therapy.
We are seeking your support to help alleviate some of these expenses. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference and bring us one step closer to ensuring Braden receives the care he needs.
If you are unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign with your network would also be immensely helpful.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity during this difficult time. We are grateful for each of you.
With gratitude,
Eric Halter
