Help Brad The Dad Heal From Cardiac Arrest

Donation protected
Last Sunday evening, on August 27, my father, Brad Lowery, suffered cardiac arrest and is now in the ICU fighting for his life.

On his walk around the neighborhood, he went into cardiac arrest and collapsed on the street. We are beyond grateful for the quick-thinking neighbors that spotted him, called 911, and, in a heroic act of kindness, started performing CPR.

Since that moment, Brad has been in the ICU, receiving critical care at the hospital. The lack of oxygen during the cardiac arrest resulted in brain damage. His heart, lungs, and kidneys were also damaged by oxygen deprivation. Initial prognosis was grim as he lay in a coma.

Each day is a heart-wrenching rollercoaster of hope and anguish. In the past six days that he's been at the hospital, he has been improving a little each and everyday. His kidneys have been improving, his lungs are requiring less assistance from the ventilator, and he has intermittently showed signs of consciousness and wakefulness from his coma. Today he was able to open his eyes, respond occasionally to commands, and track people's faces. Even the doctors have been surprised at the strength of his will and fight for recovery. We hold onto the hope that he can regain full consciousness and embark on a journey of recovery.

In addition to our father's current struggle, our family faces an additional challenge. My younger brother, Logan, has autism, and his daily needs are immense. Brad and my mother, Tracy, have devoted their lives to providing Logan with the best care possible. Now, without Brad's support, the challenge has become even more daunting.

Between mounting medical bills, the need for specialized child care and resources for Logan, and the costs associated with Brad's extended recovery, the weight on my mother's shoulders is immense. This fundraiser is our lifeline—a way to alleviate the crushing financial stress so that our family can focus on providing the support and care Brad and Logan need during this trying time.

For those who know Brad, you understand the immense void his absence has left in our home. He was the heart of our family—always in the garage crafting the latest woodworking masterpiece (this week, it was supposed to be a bookshelf), helping Logan practice his scales on the piano, or attending every Special Olympics basketball game or track race.

Whether you contribute financially or not, please pray and send positive thoughts to Brad the Dad at this time of great distress. And if you can, please:
