Help Brad & Deanna Fight Their Cancer Battle

My name is Kelly Ream and this fundraiser is for my sister Deanna Mitchell (some of you may also know her as Deanna Baker or if you have known her for decades, Deanna Rainwater). We have known each other for years and I consider her my "adoptive sister" and she refers to me as her brother.

Deanna and her husband, Brad, have been an essential part of our Glendive community for what seems like forever. Deanna spent the last several years running our senior center (she loves our seniors!), Brad has been helping Dawson county as a County Commissioner.

Today, they need your help battling cancer, so here I am asking for help on their behalf. As you may or may not know, my sister is sick with stage 4 cancer. It started several months back with her not feeling well. After several doctors appointments came a diagnosis: Peritinium Cancer. Following an exploratory surgery to find out where it's at, we found out it's in her stomach and well.... everywhere. The cancer spread and now it's snowballed into where we are today.

Today, she is receiving treatment 53 miles from her Glendive home, at Sidney Health Center, in Sidney, Montana. The goal is to undergo chemotherapy in Sidney, have her cancer enter remission, and for her to continue treating her cancer. Although not curable, her cancer certainly is treatable.

Why am I asking for help? The reality is that bills are piling up and my best friends aren't rich. These are just a few of the bills I can think of:

-Cost of a hotel room and meals so that Brad can stay nearby instead of wasting valuable time commuting, which is precious time away from Deanna.

-Medical bills that the insurance won't cover.

-Co-pays and out-of-pocket medical expenses even when the insurance does cover expenses.

-Costs for travelling 106 miles roundtrip between Sidney and Glendive, when Brad does need to travel home.

-And everything else that needs doing while you're away from home (pet sitting, etc.)

Please help Deanna and Brad fight this cancer so that she can continue giving us tight hugs and making us smile with her humor and awesome personality. They have been there for so many of us, now it's time to give them a helping hand.
