Bowser Woke Up Paralyzed — Help Him Get a Power-Up

Donation protected
On the morning of June 21st, our beloved Bowser, an 8-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix, woke up unable to move his back legs. The night before, he was perfectly fine—running, playing, and being his usual goofy self. Suddenly, he couldn’t stand, walk, or go to the bathroom on his own. We rushed him to the ER vet, where we learned that while it’s not cancer and his bloodwork is clean, Bowser is paralyzed from the waist down. The cause is still unknown, and he now needs to see a neurologist and get an MRI. If surgery is needed, it may have to happen immediately, and the costs are overwhelming for our family.

Bowser is more than just a dog—he’s family. We’ve had him since he was 8 weeks old, and he’s grown up alongside our son, Wyatt. They’re more like brothers than anything else, sharing everything from bedtime cuddles to playful afternoons at the baseball field. Bowser is the soul of our home. He loves swimming, running the bases, watching traffic with his dad, and showing off his tricks during “training time” with his sister. Steak nights and frozen pumpkin treats are his favorites, but nothing compares to curling up with his boy at night, knowing he’s safe. Bowser was also instrumental in Bradley’s recovery from cancer, cuddling close through treatment and never leaving his side. And when my dad passed away, Bowser was the one who laid beside me every night. He held us together through some of the hardest moments of our lives. Now Bowser needs us to fight for him.

Watching him struggle and seeing the worry in his eyes has been heartbreaking for all of us.

We’re raising funds to cover Bowser’s MRI, anesthesia, neurologist visits, possible surgery, medication and the physical therapy and mobility support he’ll need for recovery. Every donation, share, and kind message means the world to us. This has been one of the hardest weeks of our lives, but your support has given us hope and strength. We’re currently waiting on the neurologist’s availability so Bowser can be seen as soon as possible. The sooner we can raise the funds, the sooner he can get the care and surgery he may urgently need. Thank you for fighting for Bowser with us and reminding us that we’re not alone.

With all our love,

Megan, Bradley, Wyatt, and Bowser.
