Hi friends and family,
If you know me, you know Bowie. She’s my constant companion, my shadow, and truly my life partner. Bowie has been living with heart disease for some time, but this week things took a serious turn. She went into atrial fibrillation, a dangerous heart rhythm condition, and required emergency specialty care. After evaluation by her cardiologist, it’s clear that she now needs urgent heart surgery to survive.
The doctors have determined that Bowie needs a left atrial decompression surgery in the coming weeks to give her the best chance at stabilizing her heart and continuing her life. Without this surgery, her life expectancy could be reduced to weeks. With it, she could potentially gain anywhere from one to six more years, which feels invaluable. Bowie is currently scheduled for surgery on February 11, and I’m raising funds to help cover the cost of this time-sensitive procedure.
If you know Bowie, you know how deeply she is loved. If you’re able to contribute or share this page, it would mean the world to us. Any amount helps, and every bit of support is deeply appreciated. Thank you for caring about Bowie and for being part of our lives during this incredibly difficult moment.
With love and gratitude,
Pam & Bowie
