Hey everyone,
Jocey & Jimmy here. We never thought we'd be in a position to ask for help like this, but we are doing everything we can for our best friend—Bourbon.
Bourbon is our 8-year-old Lab/Shepherd/Pit mix, and he is truly the happiest, most loving dog you could ever meet. He lives for adventure—running, hiking, zoomies, and jumping into any body of water he can find. And at the end of every day, he’s nothing but cuddles and kisses.
On Saturday, April 11, Bourbon was doing what he loves most—playing hard—but this time it ended in heartbreak. He tore his CCL (the canine equivalent of a human ACL). This injury causes knee instability, pain, swelling, and makes it incredibly difficult for him to move like himself.
For a dog like Bourbon, who loves to be active, this has been devastating.
The recommended treatment is surgery, which gives him the best chance at a full and active recovery. Without it, he risks long-term pain and limited mobility. His surgery is scheduled for April 28, and the cost is $5,500.
To make things even more difficult, dogs with this injury have about a 65% chance of tearing the ligament in the other leg as well.
We want to give Bourbon the chance to run, hike, swim, and live his life pain-free again—but we can’t do it alone.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean the world to us. If you can’t donate, sharing this page helps more than you know.
Thank you for taking the time to read Bourbon’s story and for supporting him on his road to recovery. ❤️
