Hi friends, family, and kind animal lovers,
We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for help for our beloved Australian Shepherd, Boudreaux Lewis. Boudreaux is 9 years old and has been a loyal, gentle, and loving member of our family for nearly a decade. He’s more than a pet — he is my registered Service Animal (Disabled Combat Veteran), he’s our companion, our comfort, and a constant presence in our home.
Over the past month, Boudreaux’s health has taken a sudden and frightening turn. He has been struggling with:
Labored breathing
Repeated sneezing fits and head shaking
Bloody nasal discharge
Gurgling sounds when breathing
Difficulty swallowing
A hoarse, painful bark
We’ve taken Boudreaux to three different veterinary clinics, all of which have expressed the same serious concerns. While some symptoms point to a severe sinus or nasal cavity infection, there is also a very real possibility of a tumor or cancer. The only way to know for sure — and to give him the best chance at treatment — is through advanced diagnostic imaging.
In the Olympia, Washington area, BluePearl Veterinary Specialty Hospital is the only facility that can perform the necessary X-rays and CT scan. The cost for the CT scan and initial diagnostics alone is approximately $5,000, and that does not include medications, follow-up care, or any treatment that may be required depending on the results.
As much as we wish we could manage this on our own, these costs are beyond our family’s current financial capacity. We are asking for $6,500 to help cover:
CT scan and diagnostic imaging
Initial treatment and stabilization
Medications
Follow-up visits and care
Every dollar raised will go directly toward Boudreaux’s medical care. Any amount — no matter how small — makes a difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as meaningful and deeply appreciated.
Boudreaux has given us years of unconditional love, loyalty, and joy. Right now, he needs our help to breathe comfortably, feel relief, and have a chance at many more good days ahead.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, compassion, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
— The Lewis Family
