I'm Julia, the sister of Claire, and I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to urgently seek your support for my sister and brother-in-law, Claire and Aaron, who are both fighting battles with cancer. Let me introduce you to the Groot family. Claire, a resilient mother to two beautiful girls aged 5 and 7, was first diagnosed with triple-positive breast cancer back in 2019. Since then, she's been in a relentless battle, enduring countless surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy, and an array of therapies just to combat this aggressive disease. Despite her unwavering spirit, Claire now faces stage 4 cancer, continuing her fight with an arsenal of treatments.

Tragically, just before his 40th birthday, Claire's husband Aaron received his own devastating diagnosis of malignant melanoma. The news struck the family like a thunderbolt. Aaron too has undergone numerous surgeries and immunotherapy treatments, only to discover that the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes and neck, escalating to stage 3b.

The road ahead is daunting. Aaron is scheduled for extensive radical surgery in Sydney to remove a large tumor from his neck muscle, followed by radiotherapy and ongoing immunotherapy. Meanwhile, Claire's journey involves constant monitoring and a cocktail of treatments, including the possibility of state-of-the-art therapies at a clinic in Malaysia, where hope for her full recovery lies.

Our fundraising goal may seem ambitious, but with two parents fighting for their lives, this young family is in dire need of support. The funds raised will alleviate the financial burden of treatment costs, medical appointments, childcare, and travel expenses, ensuring that Claire and Aaron can focus on their recovery without the added stress of financial strain.
