So Boston, my roommate and best friend Kayla's dog (and my adopted dog daughter) has had a terrible injury. She tore her CCL and requires a surgery. Boston is 4 years old and loves all dogs, cats, and people and lights up the world with her smile (yes, she smiles). We have taken her to the vet for some tests and scans and she will require surgery to fix the issue. We have identified a place to get it taken care of and the cost is estimated around $4000, maybe a bit more or less (also have been price checking other reputable places in the state). Kayla is planning to try to loan the funds, but regardless she we need to move forward with getting this done, I am trying to lessen the burden for her as much as possible. Boston is otherwise healthy and is expected to return to 90% functionality of her rear leg following the procedure. The facility is run by the University and is well regarded and has experience conducting the procedure properly. I wanted to attempt to raise what I can to help Kayla and Boston. I have never known a sweeter dog nor have I known a dogmother more attached to her little pup. If you can help, please do. In this case I feel strongly we can have a great outcome for Boston and she can be back to her normal self in a few months.  The injury happened when she got a bit overzealous chasing a greyhound mix on a hill at the dog park, but based on our consultation (and the internet as well) it may have been a latent issue that needed an opportunity to present itself. Again, anything you can do to help these two is sincerely appreciated (Kayla doesn't do the Facebook thing so I thought this, and fronting the initial exam and tests, was how I could help).
