Bosco came into my life in 2006 as a tiny kitten from a throwaway litter. He was passed over by others due to his medical issues and deemed unadoptable, but I knew he deserved a chance. Since then, Bosco has been a permanent resident at Meow Manor, sharing his home with countless other kittens and cats who needed a safe place to heal and grow. Many of these fosters arrived with medical challenges, but with care and dedication, most became healthy and found loving homes. Some, like Bosco, stayed with me for life, and I have always assumed all costs for their care.
Over the years, I have spent thousands of dollars from my own social security income to provide for Bosco and the other cats. This past week has been especially difficult—Bosco, now 20 years old and failing, required multiple medical visits, including an emergency room trip, extensive tests, an ultrasound, and X-rays. The final visit was especially costly. No one subsidizes Meow Manor, and as I continue to offer re-homing services and advice for free, the financial strain has become overwhelming. With seven other aging residents, I know more medical expenses are on the horizon. In addition, after our last big snow storm, the state plows wiped out my beautiful, brand new sign and its post. Cost of replacement is over $900.
I am reaching out for help to cover Bosco’s recent ER and medical bills, as well as his euthanasia and burial costs. And the new sign I worked so hard to get. Your support will also help build a small assurance fund for the other elderly cats in my care, so they can receive the treatment they need when the time comes. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering a donation to help these beloved animals. God bless you all.
