Hello friends and family and strangers!
As some of you may know on Aug 7th, sweet Boris Katloff had a problem with vomiting, coughing, gagging and being in distress. He was having trouble with food going in and coming out.
His loving momma, Rikki, rushed him to the late night vet where over the next two weeks he's had test after test, overnight care, meds and even more tests.
After what was at first thought to be "MegaColon", yet one more diagnostic test has now confirm the poor guy has Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Good news is it's manageable with medications, special diet, and regular full grooming shaves to minimise hairballs!
Bad news is, insurance won't cover ANY of the vet bills because of a tiny little clause being triggered because he threw up before being taken into the emergency vet clinic. Utter rubbish. Even the vet clinic tried to argue this, and to get them to cover diagnostic tests to no avail.
Now vet bills are expensive, and unexpected bills are hard enough at the best of times, but when money is tight and your pet insurance won't pay out it's even harder.
And cats are family. Of course we do everything we can for them, even if it means we're now having to ask for help.
The amount here is the sum of all the vet bills, first lot of regular medications, first two weeks special food and first two grooming sessions.
Anything you can donate is HUGELY appreciated. If we get in excess of the bare minimum here to cover everything, it will go into paying for more medication, special food and grooming that Boris now needs on a regular basis.
If you know Rikki, you know how big her heart is, how much she cares for others and is there whenever you might need her. And how special the bond is between her and Boris.
Now we can support them. Thank you for any donation you can comfortably provide!
