Recently, neighbors in PLG came together to help two outdoor cats in need: Astro and Boris. Astro, a tuxedo cat, was found limping with puncture wounds all over his leg. We knew he needed medical attention so we trapped him and brought him to the vet. After treating his infection he's making a strong recovery! Meanwhile Boris is an unfixed tom cat and we thought it was likely he was the one who attacked Astro in a territorial fight. So we made it our mission to trap Boris to get him neutered at the ASPCA - no more cat fights, no more kittens born outdoors.
But when Boris went in for his neuter appointment, the ASPCA discovered he had extensive dental disease and several missing teeth. Dental disease is unfortunately common in feral cats, but it’s a very painful condition. If left untreated, it can lead to severe infections and inflammation, making it difficult for cats to eat. Left untreated it can cause cats to eventually starve. We knew we couldn’t leave Boris in pain, so we are fundraising to cover the cost of his dental surgery.
The money raised will go directly toward Boris’s surgery. All aftercare will be provided by myself and his caretaker, so every donation will directly support his urgent medical needs. Your donations not only help Boris live a happy and pain-free life, but also allow us to continue helping other cats in the neighborhood in need of rescue. Boris is the 6th outdoor cat we've helped on the block this year! Without this financial support, we couldn’t help these cats. Thank you so much for your kindness and support!

For transparency: a low-cost clinic has offered to give us a rescue discount so Boris's dental surgery will be approximately $500. We've set the fundraiser goal at $650 to help cover transport and the small fees GoFundMe takes. (The goal you see on this page will update as folks donate but will not go higher than our total goal amount.)
