Help boost the festival run for our short "Please Be Normal"

Hi, my name is Eoghan McQuinn - the writer/director of "Please Be Normal" a short film that is now complete and submitting to festivals.

I am a graduate of IADT National Film School. At the age of 20 I wrote and directed my debut short The Chance of Striking Gold. The film went on to be selected for the Galway Film Fleadh and Fastnet Film Festival.

In 2016 I wrote and directed the LGBT themed period drama Staccato. The film was selected for numerous festivals including the Washington DC Independent Film Festival and QFlix Philly, and has reached 4.9 million views online.

This latest film is my most personal to date and a major passion project of mine.

"Please Be Normal" is my take on dating and relationships (specifically in the LGBT community) in 2025. I wanted to make something funny and surprising, that gets to the heart of what it takes to move on from a bad relationship. It's also a commentary on how people present themselves in their online dating bios, and to the world at large.

This self-financed indie project was a fantastic challenge to set for myself and the amazing team we assembled. As we send it out to film festivals, heart on its sleeve, we sincerely hope that it will resonate with audiences around the world.

Festival submission fees and the cost of creating a DCP (digital cinema package, which is the required format for exhibition at many festivals) can add up, and we'd like to give the film the best chance at making an impact.
