I've known Shane, aka Boomer, for all of my life. We grew up on the shores of Everett Lake in a "Hippie/Don't Tread on Me" former resort compound. His nickname came from the number of times he got hurt and bounced back from it. A dog removing part of his face and severe burns to his forehead happened all before he could walk. As his friends know, Boomer has never taken the easy road whether by choice or by fate, but his resilience and calm attitude in the face of difficulty is a trait that we all admire.
Boomer recently started his own family with the amazing Bailey. Everett is almost a year old! Their charming son likely will make it to walking without the scars that Boomer wears on his face, but he too has been presented with hard times early in his life. Boomer was diagnosed with lung cancer in August of last year and has begun receiving treatment. His first round of chemo didn't work, but his second round of chemo and radiation is looking more promising but is still uncertain. They are very grateful for the support they have already received from their friends and family. It's been difficult for Boomer and his family to go through the cancer and treatments, but it's even harder for them to ask for help.
We are raising funds to support the McLinn-Belehar Family during these difficult times. They will use the funds to pay for medical bills, childcare, housing for medical treatment, and household expenses. Please join me in reminding the McLinn-Belehar family that hard roads should never be traveled alone.
