Hi, my name is Tandie and this past Friday I got the news that no mom ever wants to hear. I noticed my baby boy Boogie had a swollen front leg and took him immediately to the emergency vet since it was after hours, and they discovered his leg was shattered due to osteosarcoma that had eaten away at his bone.
That day, we decided the best thing we could do for him was amputate to help ease the pain he was feeling and give him a chance to live longer without the cancer spreading as fast. So on Tuesday the 16th, my boy became a tripod. With all the vet bills adding up just from his first visit, then the CT scans and surgery, and another emergency vet visit today to get a drainage tube put in, I have had to spend over $7,700. And we haven’t even started his chemo yet.
If you’ve been following me, you know that my dogs are the center of my universe. I love them with all I have and will do anything to make sure I’m able to keep his quality of life well and keep him here with me. I don’t know how much time we have left; I’ve been told as little as 6 months and as long as two years. But I do know that he has a community of people who love him so much and are going to be there for him every step of the way as he gets better.
I’m not someone who has ever asked for something like this, but I realize going through this on your own is excruciating enough before the bills start piling up. So I’m asking you if you have anything to give or can share this with people who do, please, anything helps. And as I continue to get updates from the vets, I’ll post them on here. I love this big boy with all my heart and hope with your help I’m able to be there supporting him every step of the way. So thank you for being a part of his healing, and to everyone who’s been checking in. We couldn’t do this without y’all.
