Help Bonnie's Fight
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
we are reaching out to all of you for a very special person Bonnie McArthur. Bonnie is in for the fight of her life at this time. Most of you who know Bonnie knows that 10 years ago Bonnie was diagnosed, fought, and won a battle with cervical cancer. More recently our dear friend has not been feeling the best and now through numerous tests and visits we are saddened to say that a new cancer has developed. This time around this cancer is a bitch. It has spread, it is not curable and operation will not be an option. Bonnie will be starting chemotherapy at Princess Margaret immediately with hopes of slowing it down. While the specialists are doing their job, Bonnie will be doing hers and that's being stubborn, being strong, swearing the odd time but more importantly .....not giving up! Now is the time for us to do our job to make this fight a bit easier for Bonnie.
For those of you who don't know Bonnie is first a proud single mom to a wonderful, smart, ball playing daughter Cassidy who is in her last year of college. Bonnie started her career in Corrections in 1998 at Maplehurst Correctional Complex. Her career path has led her to Ontario Correctional Institute, Regional Bailiff's department, Sergeant at Vanier Centre for Women and back to Sergeant at OCI. Bonnie has made an impression everywhere she has gone and to all that she has met along the way. She has provided help and guidance to new staff, old staff, sergeants anyone who ever unsure of what to do or how to do something if she has the answer she helps. Bonnie's work ethic is admirable to say the least. She completes her job every day, never leaving work for others and will complete others work if it was left behind. Bonnie has always been a dedicated employee always filling empty shifts when needed because "someone has to do it" and lets face it, life is expensive. Right now Bonnie's scheduled shifts are her appointments and being with her family. Let's make this easier for her.
When talking with people about Bonnie, the things that people say is that she has a colorful vocabulary but more important she has a GOOD HEART. How true that is! She has always been a person that is there for you, she supports your causes, helps out when she can and helps out when she can't, when needed she is there and now its our turn to be there for her.
She is our co-worker, our friend, our family and a great Mom. Thank you for reading this and for any help that you can offer our sister in her time of need.
