Help Bonnie Thomas through this massive challenge

I’m the Aunty of the brave strong and resilient Bonnie.

On 23 April Bonnie and Brad welcomed a gorgeous baby girl, Guinevere, into their lives.

What should have been the most joyous and amazing moment of their lives turned to a nightmare which has turned everything upside down in a moment.

Bonnie has a very traumatic labour (a lot of people do right, it’s not that pleasant) but this was particularly bad, and sadly just got worse from there. We nearly lost Bonnie, she has had two surgeries, eight blood transfusions, has moved wards, moved hospitals, moved wards again, left, readmitted and has had pretty much every Nurse and Doctor scratching their heads.

I’m the meantime she has had only three nights at home in almost four weeks, she has not had the opportunity to bring her baby home, cuddle her and just be a new mum.

finally we got an answer, Bonnie has Acquired Factor eight deficiency, a super rare (one in a million) blood disorder, a spontaneous haemophilia and her body is literally attacking itself.

She is now getting the help she needs to get her stabilised and hopefully her her home to stay!

The time away from her family is taking its toll, the cost of petrol and parking are a real struggle and the distance makes it hard for Bonnie to get the time she needs with baby Gwen who needs her mummy and visa versa.

I am collecting funds to help pay for some accommodation for Brad, Gwen and Bonnie’s mum (my sister) Kylie to be able to stay close to the hospital and support Bonnie through this time. And to be honest they all need it just as much!
