Our mom is Bonnie MacPeek, and she is a hard-working, single mom who needs your help. Over the past year and a half, our lives have been turned upside down as she has battled breast cancer. The journey has included numerous tests, surgeries, complications, infections, and trips to the hospital. Each time we think she is finally healing, another hurdle comes our way.

The physical toll on our mom has been immense, but the emotional weight of trying to stay strong for our family has been just as heavy. She says that being our mom is the greatest gift she has ever been given – and every day she fights to be here for us. We are a family of volunteer firefighters, so serving and protecting others is a core part of who we are. Even while navigating her health battles and struggling through daily life, we have tried to give back to our community however we can – because we know the power of support and kindness when life turns upside down.

Our mom works at the front desk at Clarence High School, where she loves connecting with her coworkers, students, parents, and community members. Those daily moments – sharing a smile, offering encouragement, being someone they can count on – mean the world to her.

Alongside the medical struggles, we have faced financial ones too. With extended time off work, we have lost some of our income. Between the unexpected health costs and repairs needed on our home, we have had to finally admit that we are having a super tough time right now. But we are fighters. We believe in the strength of love, community, and showing up for others, even when life feels impossible.
