Help Bonnie Get the Life-Saving Treatment Desperately needed

Donation protected
Our beautiful English Bull Terrier, Bonnie, has been under veterinary care since April this year, and despite months of tests, treatments, and specialist consultations, she is still fighting for her life.

It began with sudden lethargy and weakness in her back legs. Since then, Bonnie has undergone countless blood tests, scans, x-rays, and specialist visits. She tested positive for Neospora, a rare parasitic infection that can affect the muscles and nervous system. She has received three courses of different antibiotics, but sadly, none have worked.

Her condition has been further complicated by dangerously high muscle enzyme levels, ongoing muscle wasting, and weight loss. A planned muscle biopsy was cancelled after she was diagnosed with Stage 3 AV block — a serious heart rhythm condition that can be fatal without a pacemaker.

Bonnie’s case is complex:
• Under the care of multiple specialists, including an oncologist, cardiologist, and internal medicine team.
• Has endured multiple medications, including immune therapy (IVIG) and steroids.
• Needs a pacemaker surgery to stabilise her heart, and at the same time, a muscle biopsy will be taken to finally find the cause of her illness.

Without the pacemaker, Bonnie will not survive. Without the biopsy, we may never know what is attacking her body or how to treat it.

The costs are overwhelming — between the surgery, biopsy, ongoing hospitalisation in ICU and the months of specialist care she has already had, her veterinary bills have reached thousands of dollars. I have pet insurance but not everything has been covered. I’m about to hit the maximum limit and Bonnie still has a long way to go. I have done everything I can financially, but I can’t do this alone anymore.

Bonnie is only 6 years old. She is gentle, loving, and has fought through months of pain without ever losing her sweet nature. She still greets us with tail wags despite everything she’s been through.

If you can help, no matter how small the donation, it will go directly towards Bonnie’s life-saving pacemaker surgery and diagnostic testing. Your kindness could be the difference between her having a future or not.

Please help us give Bonnie the chance to keep fighting.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
