ROUND 2 : Help Bonnie Fight Stage 4 Cancer

BONNIE ROUND 2 FIGHT!

Last January 2025, per routine check s/p colon CA last January 2023, Bonnie scored a CA marker of 9, way above the normal 3. Our spirited Bonnie Del Rosario, age 49, was diagnosed with (1) multiple new pulmonary nodules compatible with metastasis, (2) multiple newly developed hepatic metastases in the liver, (3) metastatic lymph nodes in the upper abdomen, and (4) a large metastatic lesion near the renal hilum in the kidney. Declared stage 4, Bonnie is undergoing conventional chemotherapy and a clinical trial drug at Barnes Jewish Hospital Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis, Missouri. It is anticipated chemotherapy every 2 weeks pending prognosis.

Bonnie, as you may know, is a dedicated physical therapist, and her return to work remains indefinite as fatigue from chemo will affect her work, which requires physical lifting and supporting clients in an upright position. Even with medical insurance, there will be untold medical expenses, co-pays, and unforeseen/anticipated future treatments. Additionally, Orlando Del Rosario (Bonnie’s husband), known to us as “Orly,” will be limiting himself from work as a sterile processing technician at SIH (Southern Illinois Memorial Hospital) in Carbondale, Illinois, to stay with Bonnie and provide the needed care to/from and during chemotherapy sessions. Orly will continue to facilitate the children in school, Bonnie’s lovely daughter Abbey (15) and Adriel (18). Academics cannot be hindered by this ordeal. Bonnie will need help covering living expenses for herself and her family. That means rent, food, car insurance, health insurance, utilities, and incidentals.

Our goal is to make sure Bonnie endures this difficult time without financial strain. We want her to focus on healing and time with her family. Additionally, we are here ensuring moral support and family.

Any amount you can contribute is greatly appreciated. In addition, we seek a fraction of your free time to share this page with all your friends and communities. Bonnie started her 1st chemo last March 6, 2025. She is on a nephrostomy tube extending out of her posterior lower trunk, compensating for kidney function affected by the renal mass. Today, fatigued, she returned from her lab work with a diagnosis of UTI and is on a Foley catheter. We will provide updates on her journey. Thank you for anything you can do to help.
