Help Bonks Battle Bladder Cancer
Donation protected
This is Bianca. Or, if you've spent any time around us, Bonks, Bonkers, Booper, or Bink. Bonks just turned 9 and has saved her mom's life more times than she can count, just by needing her and being her goofy self. And now it's mom's turn to save her.
Bonks had a hard start to life. She was abused, beaten, locked in bathrooms with no food or water for the first 2 years. After that, Pets and People in Yukon rescued her, and we adopted her from them. In the 7 years she's been a part of this family, she has grown and changed so much. She still doesn't like a lot of men (and who can blame her haha), but bathrooms don't scare her anymore, she cuddles all the time, and her sister Liara is her best friend.
Bonks was just diagnosed with pretty advanced bladder cancer, or Transitional Cell Carcinoma. She has a large tumor, and it's inoperable.
We were given a 6-month estimate, with chemo and radiation, and we plan on crushing it and hopefully getting a lot more time.
But we need your help. Cancer is expensive. Each chemo injection is roughly $1,200, radiation treatments even more, and she'll need several treatments of both types over the next 6 months. This also isn't counting travel costs (our oncologist is in Richmond, about 3 hours away) or any diagnostic testing (blood work, CAT scans, ultrasounds, etc.).
In January so far, we've spent close to $3k just to get the diagnosis and treatment plan. Happily, at that. Bonks is PRICELESS to us. She had such a rough start, we want to squeeze in as much time together as possible.
Please help Bonks, and us, as we fight this thing.
