I am a single mom of two, and I also care for my mother. My family has always relied on my car for everything—from getting to work and school to making sure my kids and my mom can get to their doctor appointments. Recently, our lives were turned upside down when my car was set on fire and completely destroyed. This wasn’t just an accident—it was a crime targeting my eldest son. The person responsible was someone my son met at P.C.C. They had spent some time together, but after my son noticed troubling behavior, he chose to distance himself. After months of not hearing from this person, he came back into our lives in the worst way—by setting my car on fire. He even threatened my entire family, we are blessed that nothing happened to our home and all of us are safe.

Losing our car has made it nearly impossible to keep up with daily life. I need a vehicle to provide for my family, get my kids and mother to their appointments, and make sure we can stay connected to our community. The trauma of this event has been overwhelming, but I am determined to keep moving forward for my children and my mom.
