My dog Bongo had a terrible accident in our backyard. One moment he was outside enjoying the day, and the next I heard a heart-wrenching yelp. Somehow, Bongo ran into the foot of a ladder and tore open his left side. I rushed him to the Emergency Vet, where we learned the wound was much bigger and dirtier than anyone expected. Bongo needed emergency surgery, and it took 26 stitches and a JP drain to close the wound and keep fluid out of the cavity.

The costs for his emergency surgery, medications, and the upcoming drain and stitch removal are overwhelming. I want to do everything I can to help Bongo heal and get back to his happy, loving self. He’s been with me through the worst break up of my life, moving cross country three times, and everything in between. Bongo is my soul dog, and thinking I might lose him was the worst feeling in the world. His life is priceless to me, and I’m doing everything I can to make sure he recovers fully.
