BOMBUS REGIUS LANDLOCKED
Our fine mobile airship, the Bombus Regius (whom landlubbers affectionately call Bomby), is currently landlocked in Reno, NV. It has suffered numerous mishaps on its journey from Oakland, California, to its destination in the enchanted wonderland of Black Rock City to celebrate its 10th Burn. Our stalwart crew has tried valiantly to fix it, applying considerable time, effort, and elbow grease, but alas, our beloved vessel has run aground and we will need all of your help to get her shipshape again and continue on her journey to Burning Man 2025.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Currently, we have accrued thousands of dollars of expense just to get Bomby to Reno, including a $1,500 tow and approximately $500 in repairs. It is unknown what we will need at this point to get her operational again. It may even involve a new engine or more towing.
WHAT WE WILL USE YOUR DONATIONS FOR
100% of all money raised will be used for repairs of the Bombus Regius for necessary repairs. Any additional money raised beyond the repair costs, parts, and emergency towing costs will be used to enhance this mobile art project for future Burning Man events.
WHAT'S NEXT
Currently, the ship is in Reno and getting assessed by a trusted mechanic. Once we have an estimate on repair costs or what the short-term and long-term prospects for our beloved vessel are, we will let you know. Currently, our Early Entry Crew will continue its journey to BRC to set up critical camp infrastructure and build a safe port for our mighty vessel to join us when she is repaired.
