Help Bolt Get the MRI He Needs

Hi all! I’m seeking help for my dog Bolt. He’s a 6 (almost 7 in 2 weeks!) year old basset hound that is the sweetest and most full of life dog. Bolt loves his daily walks and yummy treats, and is known by everyone in our neighborhood for his floppy little ears and wagging tail.

Bolt has always been happy and healthy, but last week an illness appeared out of no where that has left his vets confused as to what it could be. At first he had a hard time opening his eyes, and now it seems that he cannot see out of one eye. He also periodically has a limp, shivers, and walks in circles bumping into things because he cannot open his eyes to see. He’s been on several medications that have helped temporarily, but the symptoms seem to keep coming back. We’ve gotten all the basic tests done (blood work, x-ray, eye pressure tests, eye stain, and several medications and eye drops) but nothing seems to help long term. The vet is now thinking he could have a brain tumor, but the only way to diagnose this is to get an MRI, which costs between 5-7 thousand. I am currently struggling to find a job post graduation and my mother is the sole provider of our household, so this is a big bill that we can’t afford on top of all the previous medical bills. It’s taken a toll on all of us watching Bolt, a once happy and full of life dog, become a tired, sad, and low energy little guy.

We’re asking for help to pay for Bolt’s MRI to be able to either confirm a brain tumor or find out what other neurological condition could be causing these symptoms and be able to put together a proper treatment plan as soon as possible. Any contribution will help and be greatly appreciated, we just really want to see Bolt happy and healthy again❤️
