Help Bokyo Keep Housing and Stop Eviction Process

My name is Bokyo and I have been living on my own since 2022. I unexpectedly
lost the full-time job which allowed me to do so at the very end of 2023, losing my health
insurance and income for my living expenses along with it. Throughout my time there, I
had contracted COVID-19 several times, along with any other times I have been ill,
which had burned through any sick time/PTO I had accrued. The company I had been
working for had also neglected to provide the health insurance plan for full-time
employees for over a year and a half, which I had been counting on to use for
medication and treatment for chronic mental illnesses I still am dealing with. By the last
time I caught COVID-19, I had caught it several times before in that year, which the
company COVID policy only covered for the first time that year.

For the past year or so, I have been balancing bills while looking for & working
part-time jobs, unable to pay on time with late fees for several bills accruing. Filing for
unemployment was difficult, the progress seemingly coming to a halt during the review
process with my previous employer each time, no matter how much I tried. Through this
time, I was able to secure a part-time job, which allowed me to cover food expenses
and a small amount of the bills that had been piled up to that point. However, most
recently, I have received a warning on eviction & do not have anywhere near the
total amount owed for rent.

In order for me to stay independent & stabilize my environment, I need help
covering for the rent owed for the next few months while I look for more opportunities.
Losing this apartment would not only mean losing any sense of personal life I had
formed for myself up to this point, but also my workplace. For my private work, I work
from home in an environment and workflow that took time and immense effort to create
for myself. Losing that environment would completely make my social connections,
support system, and my involvement in communities nearly non-existent. Being a small,
online, commission-based creator, any extended time offline unaccounted for can be
absolutely detrimental to my work and the space I occupy.

This Gofundme campaign serves to help cover the amount I owe in rent, which falls
around $7,500. All of the funds accrued here will directly go into my rent, while other
bills and expenses I can afford with my current means.

Any donations, no matter how small, will be immensely helpful. Even if you aren’t able
to donate, please share and help this campaign reach others. The situation is urgent
and any form of exposure and donations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to listen to my situation. As difficult
and hopeless the past year or so has felt, I feel that my personal efforts supplemented
by help from others have afforded me stability, even abundance. Thank you for helping
recenter my life and I am forever grateful for your consideration.

To reiterate, $7,500 is my final goal and all of it will go towards my rent.

Thank you!
