Bogey’s story is one of quiet resilience, unexpected love, and a second chance that came just in time.

For years, Bogey lived as a stray on the grounds of a golf course in Oregon. She became a familiar and cherished presence to many of the members who saw her during their rounds—always nearby, yet never truly having a place to call home. Among those who noticed her was Aubree Park, who would occasionally see Bogey while out golfing. Over time, Aubree realized something wasn’t right—Bogey’s eye looked badly injured.

What started as concern quickly turned into action. Aubree made the decision to get Bogey the help she needed, stepping in to cover her medical care. Since then, Bogey has been staying with Hanna Mabey, where she has finally experienced what safety, warmth, and love feel like.

Despite everything she’s endured, Bogey has the gentlest heart. She is incredibly affectionate, loves to snuggle, gets along beautifully with other animals, and welcomes everyone she meets with quiet trust. She truly is a special soul.

Unfortunately, Bogey is now facing a serious medical challenge. She has a severely infected ulcer in her right eye and is currently on three different medications. Even with treatment, the chances of saving her eye are very slim. The most likely outcome is that her eye will need to be surgically removed to prevent further pain and infection. The estimated cost of this procedure is $2,000.

If Bogey had been left on the golf course, this infection would have continued to worsen and could have eventually taken her life. Because Aubree chose to step in, Bogey now has a chance—not just to survive, but to truly live.
