Help Bobby Stay by Her Side - Support Sarah's Healing
Donation protected
On Friday, July 11th, our beloved friend and community member, Sarah Hanger, suffered a sudden brain bleed and stroke while working as a charter bus driver in Washington, D.C. She was rushed by helicopter to a hospital in Maryland and two hours later transported by helicopter to a neurological hospital four hours away from home, where she remains in the ICU.
Her devoted husband, Bobby, has not left her side for a moment. With no family nearby and the cramped ICU hospital room, Bobby has been sleeping in his Ford Escape in the hospital parking lot—choosing to be near Sarah rather than return home. He’s taken time off work without pay to be her support system during this critical time.
Their sweet dog, Sammy, is being cared for at a kennel, costing $50 per day—just one of many expenses piling up while they navigate this crisis.
Sarah is showing hopeful signs of recovery, but her path ahead includes extensive rehabilitation and ongoing care. We’re asking for support to help ease the financial burdens—from medical costs and travel, to housing and pet care—so Bobby can stay focused on what matters most: being by Sarah’s side.
If you know Bobby, you know his heart. He’s the kind of guy who’d give you the shirt off his back. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
Every donation, big or small, makes a difference—and even sharing this campaign helps.
Thank you for supporting Sarah and Bobby in this incredibly difficult time.
