Hi, my name is Bobby. I am a father, husband, and grandfather, and asking for help like this is not easy.

Five years ago, I was diagnosed with pigmentary glaucoma in both eyes. Since then, I’ve done everything I can to fight it, medications, appointments, and multiple procedures. I take six different medication eye drops twice a day.

So far, I’ve had three SLT laser surgeries, an OMNI surgery, and an emergency eye pressure drainage procedure.

Despite this, my right eye is now blurry and my vision continues to deteriorate. When eye pressure spikes, it damages my optic nerve, and that damage cannot be repaired. I’m already experiencing tunnel vision and darker peripheral vision, and more surgeries, including an Ahmed valve procedure, are being discussed to relieve pressure on my optic nerve.

My doctors have explained that at-home eye pressure monitoring is critical. The iCare HOME tonometer allows me to safely check my pressure and share readings with my care team. This device gives me the best chance to protect my remaining vision, and my ability to see my children grow up. The cost of this device or rental isn’t covered by insurance. I’m raising funds to cover the iCare HOME device, setup, and related medical costs.

Losing my sight is terrifying, and I’m not prepared for that reality…but I’m keeping my faith and spending lots of time in prayer.
