Help Bobby Rebuild After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
On September 26th, Bobby Keating lost his home and all of his possessions except his car. Hurricane Helene created historic tidal surges which flooded or washed away Bobby's entire neighborhood including his home of six years in St. Pete Beach, Florida. This week, Bobby's home was officially deemed uninhabitable by the city and is destined to be torn down. He no longer has a residence and sadly no renter's insurance. Since the 26th, Bobby has been alternating his "housing" between friends' couches, inexpensive hotels, and living in his car; obviously, this situation is not sustainable.
To help get Bobby back on his feet, we have set up this GoFundMe page in hopes of providing some stability and essentials. The goal is to cover 1 year of projected rent at $1,800/month, $3,600 for a security deposit, and $9,800 to purchase new possessions: clothing, a bed with linens, a couch, a table and chairs, a television, a computer, kitchen items, etc. This adds up to $35,000.
Luckily, Bobby is "safe and healthy" and able to continue his work as a livery driver. He owns his own taxi, which was safely parked on higher ground during the storm. Realistically though, that income is not sufficient to rebuild his life from scratch. Just imagine the daunting task of starting all over again while recovering from the loss and trauma of a natural disaster; horrific.
Bobby needs us. Won't you help with whatever amount is appropriate for your personal financial situation? All is helpful and so appreciated.
